Steve Winawer is the Head of Data, Digital, and Technology (DD&T) for Takeda’s U.S. Business Unit. A senior life sciences executive with deep expertise in business, technology, strategy, and operations, Steve has been instrumental in driving digital transformation and building a strong data foundation for Takeda’s U.S. business since the DD&T function was elevated to the Executive level in 2022. Under Steve’s leadership, Takeda continues to execute its mission to become the world's most trusted, data-driven, and outcomes-based biopharmaceutical company.

Steve is a leader who is acutely focused on business outcomes and leverages his extensive experience developing technology strategies to deliver meaningful results. His diverse global business experience has allowed him to understand the complexity and nuances of successful technology applications, coupled with the unique regional and local needs of the organizations he supports.

Steve mentors many in the industry aspiring to be tomorrow’s leaders, including his current and former team members. He is fully invested in helping his team build skills and capabilities and achieve their career goals, and works effectively across multiple stakeholder groups to build highly effective teams within the broader organization.

Before his position with Takeda, he held roles of increasing responsibility at other life sciences organizations, including Sanofi, Zoetis, and Pfizer. He is currently a student mentor with Raritan Valley Community College. Steve completed his BS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
