About

A purpose-driven career

Tiana Homsani began her career at GE and Michelin, where she developed a strong foundation in operational excellence and learned the impact that innovation at scale can have on industries. Yet something was missing: the human connection. Entering life sciences revealed to her that every innovation — whether a new digital model, a faster content review cycle, or a governance framework — could translate into earlier diagnoses, faster access to therapies, and ultimately lives improved. That purpose has anchored her ever since and compelled her to build a long-term career in pharma, where the work is never abstract and always comes back to patients.

Digital transformation at Takeda

As Head of Content Excellence at Takeda, Tiana is leading a bold reinvention of the global content operating model. Her vision: reduce content review cycles from the industry average of 15–20 days to under five. By embedding “authentic AI” across the content lifecycle, she ensures healthcare providers and patients receive timely, personalized information when they need it most. She also reallocated agency spend toward building internal capabilities, creating a sustainable model that lowers costs while improving market responsiveness. In oncology pilot markets, this acceleration delivered updated therapy guidelines 70% faster, enabling oncologists to make earlier treatment decisions for patients with aggressive conditions. “These changes have shortened the time it takes for critical medical content to reach physicians and patients from weeks to just days,” she notes. “The true impact is not in efficiency metrics — it’s in the stories of patients whose care journeys become less fragmented, less delayed, and more hopeful.”

Transformations at Abbott, Novartis and Roche

Tiana has repeatedly rewritten the playbook for how life-science companies create, govern and deploy content and omnichannel experiences. She also redefined decision rights in a traditionally consensus-driven environment, introducing governance mechanisms that empower leaders closer to the work to make faster, accountable decisions.

At Abbott, Tiana spearheaded a global marketing transformation that optimized marketing spend by nearly 10% while simultaneously increasing launch success rates by 45-60%. Her work in digital and launch excellence transformed field-based sales models into orchestrated omnichannel strategies that drove increases of 20% in market share and 5x better customer engagement.

Leadership philosophy

Her philosophy is simple yet bold: innovation only matters if it can be scaled, measured, and tied directly to patient and business outcomes. As profiled in Forbes, she says: “Good leadership is human-centric. Start with the people, and the results will follow. It’s about recognizing the potential in those around us and dedicating ourselves to their growth and success.” This clarity of focus has enabled her to challenge entrenched norms, champion new funding models, and create governance frameworks that accelerate speed and accountability.

Recognition & thought leadership

Her leadership has been recognized externally — she was a finalist for the WeQual Awards Americas (Transformation category, 2023), and her people-centered leadership has been profiled in major marquee industry summits like the NEXT Pharma Summit, Reuters Digital Health 2023, to name a few.

Mentoring & Talent Development

She believes leaders should act as “catalysts for others’ achievements” and models this through both personal mentorship and organizational talent initiatives. As she puts it, leaders must “be a lighthouse of hope and inspiration,” forging a path that empowers others to rise. Beyond her role at Takeda, she mentors through the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Mentorship Program, where she guides women navigating senior leadership transitions.

At Takeda, she co-designed and launched the Content Capability Academy, an internal program equipping global teams with next-generation skills in AI-enabled content operations and omnichannel engagement. She also contributed to the Emerging Leaders Program, focused on accelerating diverse talent into first-time leadership roles, and partnered with HR to implement a Global Skills Mapping & Upskilling Framework that has already supported over 250 employees in acquiring future-ready capabilities.

Championing Inclusion & Advocacy

As a Latina from Brazil and a working mother, Tiana draws deeply on her personal journey to empower others. She brings authenticity and relatability to her mentoring, helping colleagues find their own voice and leadership style in industries where women and minorities remain underrepresented. Her advocacy extends into the social sphere where she’s played a leading role in a Novartis CSR program that expanded oncology access to emerging markets and continues to support global causes, including work with the UN World Food Programme. What keeps Tiana motivated is the knowledge that innovation is not about technology for its own sake — it is about people. Every time she hears of a patient who began therapy sooner, or a young professional who gained the confidence to lead, it reminds her why she does this work. Metrics prove success, but meaning comes from the lives touched. That belief fuels her every day: her role is not only to transform processes, but to empower people — patients, physicians, and future leaders alike — to reach outcomes they might not have thought possible.
